American Hard Bag Amplifier Bypass Harness
Front Amplifier Bypass Version
Front plug & play signal adapter required in conjunction with this part when using this harness.
This harness works hand in hand with our standard 2014-Up Harley Plug & Play
Adapter for Aftermarket Amplifiers. The front plug and play signal adapter will give you RCA outputs to connect to your aftermarket amplifier or sound processor while also presenting a resistive load to your factory radio. The resistive load increases sound quality and allows you to use the entire volume range of the radio without distortion.
Installation Simply unplug and remove the fairing mounted amplifier and plug the bypass harness into the amplifier harness on the bike. The radio speaker output will now be passed along to the speaker pods connection point. At the speaker pod connection point our front plug and play signal adapter should be used to give you RCA output to your amplifier. The front signal adapter also comes with new plug and play speaker connections and cables to go from the speaker pods to the new aftermarket amplifier or sound processor. Rear Speaker Pigtail This harness has a speaker wire pigtail that can be used on certain bikes (not all) that have speakers in the saddlebag lids. In order to use the rear speaker pigtail on this harness our saddlebag amplifier bypass harness must also be used in order to bypass the rear amplifier and pass the signal on to the lid speakers. |
Installation Notes:
Bikes with Factory Harley Amplifier in Saddlebag
On some amplified bikes that have a second factory amplifier located in the left saddlebag the rear speaker signal might not be available in this plug (front amplifier bypass harness). On those models the rear speaker signal for the saddlebag lids will need to be grabbed at the radio harness and will require splicing for the rear speakers. The front speakers though will still work with this plug. On these models do not connect the rear speaker output of your amplifier to the rear speaker pigtail on the bypass harness.
Our saddlebag amplifier bypass harness is also required in order to bypass the rear amplifier on these models. The saddlebag amplifier bypass harness will connect the signal circuits coming from the front of the bike (either at the radio or at the front amplifier bypass harness) to the lid speakers, Eliminating the need for new aftermarket speaker lines and saddlebag disconnects to be run from the front of the bike back to the bags. Keep your factory saddlebag connections!
Rear (Saddlebag) Amplifier Bypass Harness Installation This harness loops the amplifier input circuits to the amplifier output circuits when removing a factory Harley Davidson saddlebag mounted amplifier (left side only). Now the signal circuits at the front of the bike will be directly connected to the lid speakers without any cutting. The factory saddlebag plugs can be kept in play and there is no need for aftermarket speaker lines to be run from front to back on the bike. Installation Remove the factory saddlebag mounted amplifier and plug this bypass harness into the factory amplifier harness in the saddlebag. The lid speakers are now connected directly to either the radio rear speaker outputs or to the rear speaker outputs located at the front amplifier bypass harness (assuming that you are using the front bypass harness as well). |
Installation Notes:
Will not work with factory amplifiers located in the right side saddlebag.
Requires a connection to be made at the front of the bike either at the radio or at our front amplifier bypass harness.
