Features
Step 1
Tape your lids to protect the paint.
Step 2
Cut plastic speaker basket off the bottom of each lid.
Step 3
Decide if you will be using the aluminum tweeter bridge. If so, install it now along with the tweeter.
Step 4
Drill the factory 5x7 speaker screw holes out to 3/16”.
Step 5
Select the 5x7 spacer that you will be using (tall spacers are only for bikes with electric lid locks) and screw them to the lids.
Step 6
See information below about orientation of these parts.
Step 7
Put the lid speaker grill in place and fasten it onto the lid before screwing the 5x7 to 6x9 adapter onto the assembly.
Step 8
Now screw the 5x7 to 6x9 adapter onto the 5x7 spacer.
Step 9
Screw the 6x9 in place.
Notice that the images in this guide do not show the lid latching mechanism in place inside of the lid. Be sure that you install the entire lid latching mechanism before installing this adapter. If you forget you will simply need to remove the speak- er and the 6x9 adapter plate in order to get the latching mechanism in place.

5x7 Spacer (#1 in the diagram)
This kit ships with 2 pair of these spacers. The larger (taller) spacers are only used with bikes that have factory electric lid locks. The shorter spacers are to be used with bikes that do not have electric lid locks.
5x7 Spacer Orientation
Care must be taken when orienting these adapters. The side with the thicker gasket is the top. This surface faces the sky (faces down when working on the lids upside down on a bench). Notice the notch in the gasket (see #9 in the diagram on page 1). This is where the tweeter wire gets passed through if you are using the optional aluminum tweeter bridge. This gasket is extra tall so that the wire can pass through with an airtight seal and not be pinched.
Notice the flat spot (# 10 in the diagram). This is the rear corner that faces the hinge side of the lid. This flat spot is also depicted in the image to the right.

Install the 5x7 Spacer
Drill the 4 factory 5x7 screw holes in the lid out with a 3/16” drill bit. The 5x7 spacer should be fastened to the lid with the 3⁄4” long #8 Phillips Pan Head screws.
5x7 to 6x9 Plate Orientation
This plate has a front, rear, left, and right side. Notice that the 5x7 hole is closer to the front of the 6x9 plate as well as closer to the hinge side of the lid. Be sure that you get the left and right side correct. If not, the 6x9 will hit the front inside of the bag when the lid is closed. The 6x9 plate should be fastened to the 5x7 spacer using the 3⁄4” long #8 Phillips Pan Head screws.
Larger in the rear than the front.
Be sure to orient this correctly.

Fasten the 6x9 Speaker in Place
Use the 1” long #8 Phillips Pan Head screws. Use the included bonded washers as well. These washers have a rubber backing that helps spread the load over a greater surface area. Many 6x9s have oval shaped holes for mounting the speak- ers. These oval shaped holes make for versatile mounting options but they do not leave the screw head much to hang onto.
