Introduction
This harness provides a simple way to access clean, factory 12 V constant power and ground inside the fairing. It is designed for digital sound processors and other low‐amperage accessories drawing less than 10 A. The harness plugs directly into the unused factory CB radio connector, which is prewired on all 2014–2023 Harley‐Davidson touring models whether or not the bike came with a CB radio installed.
For first-time installers: This part is ideal if you need to power small accessories like a DSP
without running additional wires from the battery. The harness uses factory‐style connectors, so installation is quick and secure without cutting into the original wiring.
Note: This harness uses the factory CB radio connector. If your bike is equipped with a CB
radio, you must choose between keeping the CB or using this harness—both cannot be used at the same time.

Vehicle Fitment
- Fits: 2014–2023 Harley‐Davidson Road Glide, Street Glide, and Electra Glide,
including Ultra, Screamin’ Eagle, and CVO variants. - Does not fit: 1998–2013 models or 2023.5 and later Skyline bikes with the wide
Android‐based radio.
Tools & Parts
- Wire strippers
- Cutters
- Connectors or solder (for attaching harness pigtails to the powered device)
Preparation
- Skill level: Beginner
- Estimated time: 15 minutes
- Disconnect the motorcycle battery before making any wiring connections.
- Ensure the motorcycle is on a stable surface with handlebars centered.
⚠ Warning: Outputs are live as soon as the harness is connected to the bike. Always connectthe harness pigtails to your accessory device before plugging the harness into the motorcycle.
Installation Steps
- Locate the factory CB radio connection on the throttle side of the fairing harness. It is bundled with the main radio harness and rear speaker output. The connector is a black 12‐pin male Molex with a rubber block‐off plug.
See [Figure 2: image of American Hard Bag Part# WH-14-SH-NOCB connected to the bike with the fairing taken off for a clear view.] - Remove the rubber block‐off plug from the factory connector.
- Plug the WH-14-SH-NOCB harness into the factory connector.
- Connect harness pigtails to your accessory device:
- Black wire = Battery ground
- Yellow wire = +12 V constant power (active even with ignition off)
- Secure wiring with zip ties to prevent movement or chafing.
⚠ Caution: Never use this harness to power high‐amperage items such as an amplifier. Use only for devices <10 A.
Verification & Testing
Reconnect the motorcycle battery.
With ignition OFF, verify the yellow lead provides +12 V power.
Power on the connected device and verify proper operation.
If the device does not power on, check the P&A 20 A (yellow) fuse located in the fuse
box under the side cover near the battery. Some bikes may be equipped with a 15 A
fuse (blue).
Note: Because this harness connects to a factory circuit, no fuse is included with this part. The circuit is protected by the factory P&A fuse. This fuse can be located in the factory fuse box under the side panel.

Troubleshooting
Symptom | Likely Cause | Fix |
Device does not |
Factory P&A fuse blown |
Replace the 20 A (yellow) fuse, sometimes 15 A (blue) |
No available CB connector |
Motorcycle is equipped with a factory CB radio |
Choose between retaining the CB or using this harness (cannot use both) |
Device resets intermittently |
Poor connections or low battery voltage |
Check and repair connections between the harness and your device, check factory fuse holder connections, check battery voltage |
